Rafi Gavron

Raphael Pichey Gavron is a British actor. He is best known for his roles in the feature films Breaking and Entering, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, and A Star Is Born, as well as his roles in television series such as Life Unexpected and Godfather of Harlem.

Gavron was born on June 24, 1989, in Hendon, London, England, to writer Martha Pichey and the late publisher Simon Gavron. He was raised in a Jewish family in North London alongside his two younger brothers, Benjamin and Moses. His paternal grandparents were British printing millionaire and politician Robert Gavron, Baron Gavron, and sociologist Hannah Fyvel. His family background also includes his great-grandfather, writer Tosco R. Fyvel, and his half-aunt, director Sarah Gavron. In 2008, he spent six months volunteering at a kibbutz in Israel.

Gavron made an early career breakthrough playing Miro, a young burglar who utilizes parkour techniques, in the film Breaking and Entering. He performed several difficult physical feats for the role, which earned him a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards. Following this project, he played the hired assassin Duro in the second season of the HBO series Rome, and appeared as Dev, the lead singer of a band, in the 2008 film Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist.

His career continued with his role as Farid in the 2009 film adaptation of Inkheart. He subsequently guest-starred in several episodes of 24 as Hamid Al-Zarian and appeared in JoJo's 2011 music video for the song "Disaster." On television, he was cast as Bug (Bobby) in the series Life Unexpected, playing a longtime friend and boyfriend to the character Lux.

In 2013, Gavron co-starred in the feature film Snitch, playing the son of Dwayne Johnson's character. He followed this with roles in the action adventure Tracers in 2015 and the drama The Land in 2016. In 2019, he joined the cast of the television series Godfather of Harlem as Ernie Nunzi. In 2024, Gavron joined the cast of Mercy, an upcoming sci-fi thriller from director Timur Bekmambetov for Amazon MGM Studios.
