Seth Adam Meyers is an American comedian, television host, writer, actor, and producer born on December 28, 1973. He is best known as the host of NBC's late-night talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, a position he has held since 2014. Before hosting Late Night, Meyers was a cast member on NBC's sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2014. During his tenure there, he served as the show's head writer and anchored its news parody segment, Weekend Update.

Meyers was born in Evanston, Illinois, to Hilary Claire, a French teacher, and Laurence Meyers Jr., who worked in finance. He spent his youth in Okemos, Michigan, and Bedford, New Hampshire. Meyers graduated from Manchester High School West and earned a degree in film and television production from Northwestern University in 1996. While at Northwestern, he joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and began performing improv comedy with the Mee-Ow Show. His younger brother, Josh Meyers, is also an actor and comedian.

After college, Meyers performed with the ImprovOlympic group Preponderate and joined the English-language improv troupe Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. After talent scouts from Saturday Night Live saw a show he developed, he was invited to audition and joined the series in 2001. Meyers became a writing supervisor in 2005 and a co-head writer in January 2006. He began co-anchoring Weekend Update with Amy Poehler in 2006, served as the solo anchor from 2008 to 2013, and co-anchored with Cecily Strong during his final season before departing in February 2014.

On Saturday Night Live, Meyers earned acclaim for his political writing, including sketches featuring guest star Tina Fey as Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential election. Outside of the show, he won the third season of Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown in 2004 and donated his $100,000 prize to the Jimmy Fund. He co-wrote a Spider-Man comic one-off titled The Short Halloween in 2009 and co-created the animated series The Awesomes, which premiered on Hulu in 2013.

Meyers officially assumed the role of host on Late Night on February 24, 2014, succeeding Jimmy Fallon. He appointed former castmate Fred Armisen as the leader of the show's 8G Band. Through his company, Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions, Meyers signed an overall deal with NBCUniversal. His other audio pursuits include co-hosting the podcasts Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers, Strike Force Five, and The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast.

Meyers has hosted major events and award ceremonies, including the Webby Awards, the ESPY Awards, the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2014, and the 75th Golden Globe Awards in 2018. He was also the keynote speaker at the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner. Meyers married attorney Alexi Ashe in September 2013, and the couple has three children.
