Ella Beatty

Ella Beatty (born April 8, 2000) is an American actress who has quickly become one of the most talked-about young performers of her generation. The youngest child of Oscar-winning actors Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, she trained in drama at the Juilliard School (class of 2022) and is best known for her 2026 starring role as the title character in the FX/Hulu true-crime drama Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story.

Beatty made her screen debut in 2024 with a recurring role as Kerry O’Shea in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. That same year she made her Broadway debut, stepping into the role of River Rayner in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s acclaimed play Appropriate (taking over from Elle Fanning), and she has continued to build a stage résumé at Lincoln Center. On film she appeared in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025) and Act One (2026) before headlining the Lizzie Borden installment of Murphy’s Monster franchise.

With Juilliard training, a high-profile Hollywood lineage and a fast-rising screen and stage career, Beatty has drawn steady attention from audiences looking up her background, age and height — interest that has only grown with the release of Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story.

On stage she has worked at Lincoln Center, including a 2025 production of Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts in which she played the maid Regina Engstrand, and critics have noted the poise of her early theatre work. Coming from a family of performers alongside parents Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, Beatty has spoken about carving out her own path through rigorous conservatory training rather than relying on her name, and her run of high-profile film, television and stage roles across 2024–2026 has made her one of the most searched rising actors of her cohort.
