Lauren Morais

Lauren Morais is a Welsh actress who has emerged as one of the promising young performers to come out of Cardiff in recent years. Raised in Llanrumney, a district of Cardiff, she was educated at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern before training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, from which she graduated in 2023.

Morais began working professionally in the early 2020s, appearing in both Welsh-language and English-language productions. Early credits included the S4C drama “Y Gyfrinach” and a role in the National Youth Theatre of Wales production “Sian of Arc” (2021), which helped establish her on the Welsh stage and screen scene.

On television she took on the role of Bronny in the drama “Tree on a Hill” (2023) and appeared as Lucy Popkin in the crime series “The Red King” (2024). She continued with a role as Charlie in the thriller “The Crow Girl” (2025), building a varied early CV across genres.

A significant step came with the bilingual drama “Mudtown” (“Ar y Ffin,” 2025), in which she joined the main cast as Becca Lewis Jones. She is also set to appear as Lisa Molinari in the Marvel series “VisionQuest,” a high-profile international project expected to raise her profile considerably.

Rooted in the vibrant Welsh acting scene and comfortable working in both Welsh and English, Morais represents a new generation of talent emerging from Cardiff. With a growing list of television credits and a forthcoming franchise role, she is increasingly regarded as one of Wales’s young actors to watch.

Her training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama — one of the United Kingdom’s leading conservatoires — placed her within a strong tradition of Welsh screen actors, and she has worked steadily since graduating. Critics and casting directors have noted her range across the crime, thriller and drama series that have made up her early career, and her move into a major international franchise marks an unusually fast rise for a performer only a few years out of drama school. She continues to take on projects in Wales while building an international profile.
