Fiona Palomo

Fiona Palomo is a Mexican-American actress known internationally for her role as Sofía Delgado in the Netflix drama “Outer Banks.” Born Fiona Alexa Estrada Ricco on October 12, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, she holds dual United States and Mexican citizenship and has built a career that spans both Mexican and English-language productions.

She comes from a prominent Mexican artistic family. Her father, Eduardo Palomo, was a celebrated telenovela actor best remembered for the 1990s hit “Corazón Salvaje,” while her mother, Carina Ricco, is an actress, singer and writer. Fiona performs under her father’s stage surname, Palomo.

Palomo began acting as a teenager, making her television debut in “Gossip Girl: Acapulco” in 2013. She then worked steadily in Mexican film and television, gradually moving from supporting parts to leading roles over the following years.

Her breakthrough on the big screen came with the 2022 comedy “¡Qué despadre!,” which earned her the Diosa de Plata (Silver Goddess) award for Best New Actress. The next year she starred as Sandra Navarro in the drama “Bad Actor,” a performance that won her the Diosa de Plata for Best Actress and a nomination for the Ariel Award — Mexico’s most prestigious film honour — in the Best Actress category.

On television, Palomo appeared as María Alexander in the Mexican Netflix thriller “Control Z” (2020). She then joined the international ensemble of “Outer Banks” in its third season as Sofía Delgado, continuing in the role through the show’s fourth and fifth seasons between 2023 and 2026 and reaching a global streaming audience.

Her other credits include the biblical musical “Journey to Bethlehem” (2023), in which she played Mary, and the comedy “El roomie” (2024) as Vivi. In 2026 she appears in “Baton,” a sports drama marking the directorial debut of actor Danny Ramirez.

Working across Los Angeles and Mexico City, Palomo has become one of the more visible young performers bridging Mexican cinema and mainstream streaming — recognised both by Mexican award bodies and by the worldwide following of “Outer Banks.”
