Andy McQueen

Andy McQueen is a Canadian actor who has appeared across film, television, and theatre. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Detective Malik Abed in the television drama Coroner, as well as for his performance in the 2019 feature film Disappearance at Clifton Hill.

Born on March 2, 1991, McQueen is of Indo-Guyanese heritage. As part of his professional training in performance arts, he attended the Canadian Film Centre, where he completed the Actors Conservatory program.

Over the course of his screen career, McQueen has taken on roles in a variety of feature films. His early movie credits include the 2017 feature Brown Girl Begins and the 2018 adaptation Fahrenheit 451. He went on to appear in several 2020 releases, including Books of Blood, Sugar Daddy, and Little Orphans. More recently, he was cast in the 2022 film I Like Movies.

In addition to his film work, McQueen has established a prominent presence on television. Alongside his recurring performance in Coroner, he has been cast in popular series such as The Handmaid's Tale, Jack Ryan, and The Girlfriend Experience. His television portfolio also includes appearances in the limited series Station Eleven and the show Mrs. Davis.

Beyond his work in front of the camera, McQueen has performed on stage. Notably, he was part of the cast for the Toronto theatrical production of Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train.

McQueen's acting achievements have earned him formal industry accolades. His role in Disappearance at Clifton Hill secured him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 8th Canadian Screen Awards in 2020.
