Greyston Holt

Greyston Holt, born Greyston Stefancsik on September 30, 1985, is a Canadian actor. He gained widespread recognition for portraying Ray Prager Jr. in the television drama Durham County, a young Emerson Hauser in the series Alcatraz, and Clayton Danvers in the fantasy and horror series Bitten.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Holt was raised by his parents, Mike and Nancy, on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. His family background includes Hungarian heritage; his paternal grandparents, Mike and Edith Stefancsik, relocated to Lethbridge from Hungary in 1957, while his maternal grandmother, Anna Horvath, immigrated to Canada from Hungary with her family in 1927. During his secondary education, Holt picked up the guitar, eventually forming a musical group and performing at local venues. He also enrolled in an acting class to earn extra school credits, which sparked his interest in dramatic arts.

After completing high school, Holt relocated to Vancouver to establish a career in acting. He initially landed minor parts, starting with a role in the film Killer Bash and followed by an appearance in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed miniseries Into the West. He continued building his portfolio with guest appearances on notable television programs such as Smallville, Blood Ties, and The 4400.

Holt's career advanced when he secured a recurring part in Durham County. His performance in the show earned him a nomination for a Leo Award in the category of Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series. Following this success, he appeared in guest roles on several television series, including Stargate Universe, Sanctuary, Fringe, and Flashpoint.

In 2011, Holt was chosen to play the younger version of Emerson Hauser in the Fox series Alcatraz. He subsequently achieved his largest role to date starring in the Space series Bitten. His work on the show earned him another Leo Award nomination. Bitten was later picked up by the Syfy channel, which ordered a second ten-episode season.
