Matthew Del Negro

Matthew Del Negro is an American performer who has built a prolific career across television, film, theater, and video games. He has appeared in numerous high-profile drama series and motion pictures over several decades, gaining recognition for his recurring and supporting roles on major broadcast and cable networks.

Born on August 2, 1972, in Mount Kisco, New York, Del Negro grew up as the youngest of three siblings. He attended John Jay High School in Cross River, New York, graduating in 1990. He then pursued his higher education at Boston College, where he actively participated in collegiate athletics as a Division I lacrosse player. He is also related to former professional basketball player Vinny Del Negro, who is his second cousin.

Following his college graduation, Del Negro began formal acting training. His early professional efforts included roles in independent films and small commercial spots. His career expanded significantly when he secured the role of Brian Cammarata on the acclaimed television drama The Sopranos.

His work on The Sopranos served as a springboard for extensive television opportunities. Over the years, he earned roles in a wide range of popular series, including The West Wing, Law & Order, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, Scandal, Teen Wolf, Goliath, United States of Tara, and Lie to Me. Additional television credits include Stargate: Atlantis, Las Vegas, Beautiful People, Joan of Arcadia, Happy Endings, Rizzoli & Isles, and Unforgettable. In 2019, he joined the cast of the Showtime crime drama City on a Hill in a recurring capacity before being elevated to a series regular for its second season.

In addition to his television work, Del Negro has appeared in various feature films, such as Chelsea Walls, Ira & Abby, Trailer Park of Terror, Saving Lincoln, and Hot Pursuit. He has also performed on stage in multiple theatrical productions. Beyond live-action medium, he has contributed voice acting to prominent video games, voicing Ops Com in SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, as well as performing roles in L.A. Noire and Mass Effect 3.

Alongside his ongoing acting projects, Del Negro shares his professional expertise by teaching acting courses in Santa Monica.
