Francesco Cura

Francesco Cura, born on March 7, 1977, is an American actor, singer, and fashion model. He has appeared in film and television under his name as well as credits such as Francis J. Cura and Francesco Maria Cura. He is best known for his roles in feature films, television movies, and guest appearances on popular network television shows.

Cura was born in Parma, Italy, and spent a significant portion of his youth traveling between Italy and the United States. Raised in an artistic environment, his father, Arturo Cura, worked as a painter, author, and independent film director, while his sister, Valentina Cura, also pursued a career as an artist. During his early years, Cura frequently appeared in his father's stage and television productions.

He pursued formal arts education at the Institute of Arts P. Toschi in Parma, where he studied art history, graphic design, sculpting, portraiture, typography, and lithography, graduating with honors. Following his studies, Cura moved to Milan to begin working as a male fashion model. While in Milan, he also enrolled in a classical opera vocal training program, ultimately developing a four-octave vocal range.

In 1998, Cura relocated to New York City to further his artistic career and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. During his time in New York, he performed in a variety of stage productions. He later moved to Los Angeles in 2003, shifting his focus primarily toward film and television work.

Throughout his screen acting career, Cura has earned roles in several feature films, including Hannah Can't Swim, Singularity, and The Deep and Dreamless Sleep. He also appeared in the feature film Bridget Jones's Baby in 2016 playing the role of Sexy Santa, and in The Book of Daniel in 2013 credited as Francis J. Cura.

In television, Cura has guest-starred on prominent series such as Scrubs in 2003 and Criminal Minds in 2008. His television credits also include the 2013 television movie The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex, as well as multi-episode appearances in television series such as The Swamp in 2012 and JoyCamp in 2012.
