Danny Ramirez

Daniel Ramirez, born September 17, 1992, is an American actor. He gained recognition for his role as Joaquin Torres / Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), debuting in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) and continuing in the feature film Captain America: Brave New World (2025). He has also had roles in the feature film Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and the HBO television series The Last of Us (2025).

Ramirez was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Miami, Florida. He is of Colombian and Mexican descent and attended Miami Coral Park Senior High School. He initially pursued athletics, trying out American football and soccer, but pivoted to a new career after experiencing injuries. He subsequently studied at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2018.

He made his screen and television debut in 2016 with minor roles in Showtime's The Affair and NBC's Blindspot. In 2017, Ramirez gained recognition for a recurring role as Wes on Fox's The Gifted and guest-starred in Orange Is the New Black. From 2018 to 2019, he appeared in a recurring role on Netflix's On My Block. He made his feature film debut in Sam Levinson's Assassination Nation, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018. He followed this with supporting roles in several films, including Tone-Deaf (2019), Lost Transmissions (2019), The Giant (2019), Silo (2019), This Is Not a War Story (2020), and the musical remake Valley Girl (2020).

In August 2018, Ramirez was cast in Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise, Glen Powell, and Miles Teller. In November 2018, he was honored as the Rising Star at the Third Annual NYU Stonestreet Granite Awards. Top Gun: Maverick experienced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic before its eventual release in May 2022, receiving positive reviews and an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.

In 2021, Ramirez portrayed Joaquin Torres in the MCU series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Throughout 2022, he starred in lead roles in No Exit and Look Both Ways, as well as starring roles in Stars at Noon and Root Letter. He also appeared in episodes of the anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead and Black Mirror, followed by supporting film roles in Chestnut (2023) and Winner (2024). In early 2024, Ramirez co-founded the production company Pinstripes alongside producer Tom Culliver.

Ramirez reprised his MCU role as Torres in Captain America: Brave New World (2025), where his character takes on the mantle of Falcon from Sam Wilson. In April 2025, he appeared as Manny in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us. In 2026, he is set to reprise his role as Falcon in the MCU film Avengers: Doomsday and co-star in the Jean-Michel Basquiat biopic Samo Lives.

Ramirez is set to make his directorial debut with the sports drama Baton, produced by Victoria Alonso and David Beckham, in which he stars alongside Lewis Pullman, Camila Mendes, and Becky G. His additional upcoming projects include an adaptation of Scarface, the film The Juice, a project he wrote titled Pursuit of Touch, and De Noche. As of 2025, Ramirez has been in a relationship with American actress Jessica Alba.
