Natalia Dyer

Natalia Danielle Dyer is an American actress who gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Nancy Wheeler in the Netflix science fiction horror series Stranger Things. Her career encompasses a mix of major television roles and performances across independent and feature films.

Born on January 13, 1995, in Nashville, Tennessee, Dyer grew up alongside two sisters and an elder brother. She developed an interest in performance at a young age, performing in local community theater productions. She pursued formal training at the Nashville School of the Arts before relocating to New York City to attend New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

Dyer began acting professionally as a teenager in regional productions near her hometown. Her initial screen appearance occurred in the 2009 feature Hannah Montana: The Movie, playing the character Clarissa Granger. She subsequently acquired small roles in feature films such as The Greening of Whitney Brown and Blue Like Jazz, later securing parts in independent projects including Don't Let Me Go and After Darkness. At sixteen, she took on her first lead performance in I Believe in Unicorns, a project that debuted at the SXSW Film Festival in 2014.

Her career reached a major turning point when she was cast as Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things, a role she played from 2016 through 2025. This breakthrough expanded her visibility and led to further opportunities in both television and film.

In addition to her primary television work, Dyer starred as Alice in the 2019 independent comedy-drama Yes, God, Yes, portraying a Catholic student navigating personal discovery. Her screen credits also include supporting parts in the 2019 feature Velvet Buzzsaw and the 2021 release Things Heard & Seen, as well as a main role in the 2023 horror film All Fun and Games alongside Asa Butterfield. Furthermore, she appeared in the 2023 Peacock comedy thriller series Based on a True Story.

On a personal note, Dyer has been in a relationship with her Stranger Things colleague Charlie Heaton since 2016.
