Raised in Cincinnati, Gregory graduated from Oak Hills High School in 2006 before enrolling at Northern Kentucky University to study musical theater. Recognizing a strong passion for modeling and acting, he relocated to Los Angeles to begin working professionally. Standing at six feet two inches, his versatile look enabled him to secure representation with modeling agencies such as Nous Models, where he booked print, lifestyle, and editorial work alongside his television projects.

Gregory made his television debut with appearances on series such as Just Jordan and Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2008, he landed a recurring role as Ty Collins in the CW teen drama series 90210. His visibility expanded significantly when he played Ashley Tisdale's ex-boyfriend in her 2009 music video for "It's Alright, It's OK," as well as feature film roles in 17 Again and Hannah Montana: The Movie. In 2010, Gregory was cast in the contract role of Thomas Forrester on the CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, a role he portrayed for several years.
