Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown (born Millie Bonnie Brown) is a British actress and producer who achieved international prominence for her portrayal of Eleven in the Netflix science fiction series Stranger Things. Her performance earned her critical acclaim along with multiple award nominations, including two Primetime Emmy nods. In addition to her television work, she has established herself in the film industry, starring in major feature productions and producing several projects.

Born on 19 February 2004 in Marbella, Spain, Brown is the third of four children born to British parents Kelly and Robert Brown. During her early childhood, her family relocated to Bournemouth, England, and later moved to Orlando, Florida, when she was eight years old. Raised in modest financial circumstances, she also grew up with partial hearing loss in her left ear, which eventually developed into complete deafness in that ear over time.

Brown made her screen acting debut in 2013 with a guest role as Young Alice in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. She subsequently secured a main role in the drama series Intruders in 2014, alongside guest appearances on television shows such as NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey's Anatomy. Her breakthrough arrived in 2016 when she was cast in Stranger Things, a role that earned her Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, a Saturn Award, and a shared Screen Actors Guild ensemble award.

Following her television success, Brown made her feature film debut in the 2019 movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, later reprising her role in the 2021 sequel Godzilla vs. Kong. She expanded into film production with the Netflix movie Enola Holmes in 2020, playing the title character and returning for its subsequent installments. Her further film credits include leading roles in the fantasy feature Damsel, released in 2024, and the 2025 adaptation The Electric State.

In 2019, Brown expanded her career into entrepreneurship by founding Florence by Mills, a cosmetics and lifestyle brand targeted toward younger consumers. She has engaged in multiple design and brand partnerships, including custom footwear collections with Converse, eyewear lines with Vogue Eyewear, and ambassadorships with major fashion and jewelry labels. In September 2023, she published her debut novel, Nineteen Steps, which was inspired by her family history.

Throughout her career, Brown has received notable recognition, including being named to the Time 100 list of influential people in 2018 and becoming the youngest person appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. In her personal life, she began studying health and human services online at Purdue University in 2022. She married actor Jake Bongiovi in 2024, adopting his surname, and the couple announced the adoption of a daughter in 2025.
