Bill Skarsgård

Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård is a Swedish actor, model, producer, and director born on August 9, 1990. Widely recognized for his portrayals of monsters and non-human characters, media outlets have often characterized him as a creature actor. His film projects have collectively grossed more than $3.3 billion at the global box office. Over the course of his career, he has earned several accolades, including a Satellite Award, a Berlinale Award, and the European Film Academy's Shooting Stars Award.

Born in Vällingby, Stockholm, Skarsgård is the son of physician My Skarsgård and actor Stellan Skarsgård. He was raised in a large family with seven siblings, including actors Alexander, Gustaf, Valter, and Kolbjörn. After attending Södra Latin, he began his acting career early as a child actor alongside his brother Alexander in the 2000 film White Water Fury. He later gained notice for his leading performance in the 2010 movie Simple Simon, which netted him a Guldbagge Award nomination. In 2014, he appeared on the cover of Hero magazine, featuring an interview conducted by his father.

Skarsgård achieved wider international attention playing Roman Godfrey in the television series Hemlock Grove from 2013 to 2015. He made his major American feature film debut in the 2016 dystopian science fiction project The Divergent Series: Allegiant, portraying the character Matthew. His major breakthrough arrived when he was cast as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 2017 horror film It, securing nominations for a Saturn Award, an MTV Movie Award, and a Teen Choice Award. He reprised this prominent role in the 2019 sequel It Chapter Two and the 2025 prequel series It: Welcome to Derry.

Expanding his screen credits across multiple genres, Skarsgård starred as a regular in the 2018 television series Castle Rock and played a minor role as Zeitgeist in Deadpool 2 that same year. He subsequently appeared in an episode of the anthology series Soulmates in 2020, voiced the antagonist Kro in the 2021 film Eternals, and portrayed Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson in the 2022 miniseries Clark. In 2023, he played the lead antagonist Marquis de Gramont in John Wick: Chapter 4.

In 2024, Skarsgård took on primary roles in Boy Kills World and the reboot of The Crow. He also played Count Orlok in the remake of Nosferatu, undergoing extensive preparation that included working with an opera coach, using a Transylvanian accent, and applying 60 prosthetics. In 2025, he starred in the films Locked and Dead Man's Wire. He was later cast as Little John in the 2026 production The Death of Robin Hood, shaving his head and adopting a Yorkshire accent for the part, with additional upcoming work including The Mosquito Bowl.

Skarsgård is in a relationship with actress Alida Morberg, with whom he has two children, born in October 2018 and in 2023. In February 2024, he was fined following an arrest in Sweden for cannabis possession.
