John Wick

John Wick is one of the defining action franchises of its era: a stylised, world-building series of neo-noir thrillers starring Keanu Reeves as a legendary retired assassin pulled back into a secret society of killers. Created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad and directed by former stuntman Chad Stahelski, the films are celebrated for their precise, martial-arts-driven “gun-fu” choreography, neon-soaked visual style and the intricate mythology of the assassin underworld — the Continental hotels, the gold coins, and the ruling body known as the High Table.

The films

The saga began with John Wick (2014), in which the grieving hitman takes revenge after gangsters kill the puppy left to him by his late wife. The ensemble
