Asia Kate Dillon

Asia Kate Dillon is an American actor born on November 15, 1984, in Ithaca, New York. They are widely recognized for their television roles as Brandy Epps in the series Orange Is the New Black and Taylor Mason in the drama Billions, as well as their appearance as the Adjudicator in the 2019 feature film John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Dillon identifies as non-binary and pansexual, utilizing singular they pronouns.

During their junior year of high school at age 16, Dillon completed the Meisner training program at The Actor's Workshop of Ithaca, becoming the youngest student accepted into the course. They subsequently graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. In 2007, Dillon starred as the title character in the theatrical production My Name Is Rachel Corrie. They later participated in a playwright workshop with Oscar and Tony Award winners, performed as Lucifer in The Mysteries, and appeared in The Tempest with the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Dillon gained widespread television recognition in 2016 playing Brandy Epps, a penitentiary inmate, across eight episodes of Orange Is the New Black, making them one of the earliest openly non-binary actors cast in a major television series. In 2017, they joined the second season of the Showtime series Billions in a recurring role as hedge fund intern Taylor Mason. The part marked the first non-binary main character portrayed on mainstream North American television, and Dillon was promoted to a primary cast member beginning in season 3. Their performance earned a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

When seeking Emmy Award consideration for their work on Billions, Dillon requested to enter gender-neutral acting categories, ultimately selecting the term actor over actress. This effort to establish recognition for non-binary performers influenced the MTV Movie & TV Awards to consolidate their gender-divided categories. Dillon presented the Best Actor award at the MTV event in May 2017. Their subsequent projects include being cast in the film The Outside Story in late 2018.

In addition to acting, Dillon founded MIRROR/FIRE Productions, serving as its producing director. The company produced US, a stage piece examining racism and the Black Lives Matter movement. In March 2020, Dillon launched their debut EP, Handsomehands, directing all proceeds to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute. In June 2019, Queerty included Dillon in its Pride50 list honoring individuals advocating for equality and dignity within the queer community.
