Joey Pollari

Joey Pollari is an American actor, musician, and director born on April 9, 1994, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He first gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Eric Tanner in the second season of the ABC drama series American Crime. Over his career, Pollari has appeared in notable feature films, television series, theatrical stage productions, and musical projects.

Pollari spent his youth in Minnesota and began pursuing acting after attending a talent scouting event in downtown Minneapolis with his mother, which resulted in immediate callbacks from talent agents. He subsequently gained early performing experience on stage at local venues, including the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, as well as the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and the SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development in St. Paul. In his personal life, he came out as gay to his family and friends at the age of 18.

His television debut occurred in April 2006 when he appeared as a newsboy in an episode of the police procedural series Cold Case. He secured his first lead role in the Disney XD original movie Skyrunners, a project filmed in New Zealand that premiered in November 2009 when he was 15 years old.

Pollari expanded his film and television credits with a supporting role as Lyle in the 2018 romantic comedy Love, Simon, followed by an appearance in the 2019 film The Obituary of Tunde Johnson. He later landed a key guest role on Paramount+'s SEAL Team in 2023 and a recurring role in the 2024 Apple TV+ drama Sugar. In 2025, Pollari starred in the romantic comedy Things Like This and played Anthony Perkins in the Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story. His ongoing television work includes becoming a frequent creative partner of Ryan Murphy, joining upcoming 2026 projects such as The Beauty, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, and American Horror Story: 13.

In addition to acting, Pollari operates as a musician and video director. He debuted his first studio album, About Men, in 2020, followed by the EP Last Evenings in October 2023, which was supported by the singles Supine Soundtrack and the self-directed video for Aliveness. On April 5, 2024, Pollari released his second full-length album, I'll Be Romance, preceded by the single So Close, which featured another self-directed music video.
