Joey Pollari

Joey Pollari (born April 9, 1994) is an American actor and musician best known for playing Eric Tanner in ABC’s American Crime and Lyle in the 2018 coming-of-age hit Love, Simon.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Pollari began performing as a child — including at the renowned Guthrie Theater — and broke through with a recurring role in Disney’s Skyrunners (2009) before his acclaimed turn as Eric Tanner in the second season of American Crime (2016). His role as Lyle in Love, Simon (2018) widened his audience, and he went on to appear in Apple TV+’s Sugar (2024) and SEAL Team (2022–2024).

Since 2025 he has become a frequent Ryan Murphy collaborator, playing Anthony Perkins in Monster: The Ed Gein Story (2025), with further roles in The Beauty and Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story (2026). Away from acting he is a recording artist, releasing the albums About Men (2020) and I’ll Be Romance (2024), and he directs his own music videos.

Pollari first drew critical attention with American Crime, whose anthology format gave him a meaty dramatic showcase, while Love, Simon cemented him with younger audiences as part of one of the era’s most prominent studio coming-of-age films. In parallel with acting he has built a serious music career, writing, performing and self-directing the videos for his albums About Men (2020) and I’ll Be Romance (2024). His 2025–2026 run of Ryan Murphy productions — beginning with his turn as Anthony Perkins in Monster: The Ed Gein Story — has brought renewed attention to his work across both disciplines.
