Lauren Cohan

Lauren Cohan is an American-British actress widely recognized for her roles in television and film. She gained major international prominence for her portrayal of Maggie Greene, later Maggie Rhee, in the AMC post-apocalyptic horror series The Walking Dead from 2011 to 2018 and 2020 to 2022. She later reprised the role in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City.

Cohan was born Lauren Storholm on January 7, 1982, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, to an American father and a Scottish mother. She spent her early childhood in New Jersey and lived in Georgia for a year before relocating to Surrey, England, at age thirteen. Following her mother's remarriage, her surname was legally changed to Cohan, the surname of her stepfather. She converted to Judaism at age five and has younger half-siblings through her parents' remarriages. Cohan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and English literature from King Alfred's College, Winchester, which later became the University of Winchester.

Cohan made her feature film debut as Sister Beatrice in the 2005 film Casanova. In 2006, she starred as Charlotte Higginson in the comedy Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj. In April 2011, Cohan joined the cast of The Walking Dead during its second season, becoming a main series regular in season three. At the conclusion of season eight, contract negotiations regarding a pay dispute over salary parity with male co-stars led to her departure in 2018 after appearing in five episodes of season nine. She returned as a series regular for the show's eleventh and final season. Cohan subsequently starred alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City, which premiered in 2023 and was renewed for a second season in July 2023, with both actors also serving as executive producers.

Outside of The Walking Dead franchise, Cohan starred as CIA operative Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge in the 2019 ABC action comedy-drama Whiskey Cavalier and voiced War Woman in the animated series Invincible from 2021 to 2023.
