Devon Graye

Devon Graye Fleming is an American actor and screenwriter born in Mountain View, California. Raised by parents who homeschooled him, he moved frequently throughout California during his childhood. He spent all four years of high school residing in the United Kingdom before returning to Pleasanton at the age of 16. Later, he formally studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater located in San Francisco.

Graye began his performing career on stage, starring as Stanley in a San Francisco production of the stage adaptation of Louis Sachar's Holes at the Orpheum Theatre in late 2005. At age 18, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue professional acting opportunities. Within three months, he landed a part in ABC's television pilot A House Divided alongside Dylan McDermott. Shortly afterward, he gained recognition for portraying the younger version of the main character in the crime drama series Dexter, appearing in multiple episodes from 2006 to 2009.

In 2008, Graye featured as Luke in the Nickelodeon television film Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh. He expanded into feature films in 2010, starring in WWE Studios' drama Legendary alongside John Cena, Patricia Clarkson, and Danny Glover. That same year, he appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie Avalon High, adapted from the novel by Meg Cabot. His screen work continued with lead performances in the horror film Husk and the drama Exodus Fall in 2011, followed by a guest role on the second season of American Horror Story in 2012 as Jed Potter.

Over the following years, Graye appeared in the 2014 film 13: Game of Death alongside Mark Webber, Tom Bower, and Ron Perlman, as well as Tom Dolby's Last Weekend. In 2015, he joined the cast of The CW series The Flash as the second Trickster, a copycat character to Mark Hamill's role. He subsequently replaced Luke Pasqualino in the LGBTQ+ drama Retake, which was released in 2016. Graye later starred in the 2021 psychological thriller The Madness Inside Me, appeared in the 2022 psychological horror film Hypochondriac directed by Addison Heimann, and played paparazzo Ryder Muybridge in Jordan Peele's science fiction horror feature Nope. On television, he appeared in the second season of Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer before being upgraded to a recurring role for its third season in 2024.

Alongside acting, Graye established a screenwriting career. His unproduced script Allison Adams was featured on the 2016 Black List. He wrote the screenplay for the horror film I See You, which was directed by Adam Randall, starred Helen Hunt, and premiered at SXSW in 2019. In 2020, it was announced that his spec script Switchboard would be produced by Matt Reeves, Steven Schneider, and Armaan Zorace. In June 2024, Graye was announced as the writer for a sequel to the 2015 science fiction psychological thriller Circle.

In his personal life, Graye is gay. He began a relationship with actor Jordan Gavaris in September 2013, and the couple married in 2018.
