Becki Newton

Becki Newton is an American actress who has established a prominent career across television comedy and drama. Born on July 4, 1978, she is widely recognized for her performance as Amanda Tanen on the ABC series Ugly Betty. She is also well known for portraying Quinn Garvey on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and starring as Lorna Crane on the Netflix legal series The Lincoln Lawyer.

Newton grew up in an artistic family; her mother, Jennifer, is an artist, her aunt, Stephanie Chase, is a classical violinist, and her cousin once removed is actress Sienna Miller. Her older brother, Matt Newton, is an actor who later made recurring appearances on Ugly Betty. After attending the University of Pennsylvania, Newton relocated to New York City, where she began her career by appearing in television commercials for companies such as Olive Garden and participating in a public service video titled Keg Party.

Newton earned her breakthrough role in 2006 when she was cast as Amanda Tanen on ABC's Ugly Betty, remaining with the show through its fourth and final season in 2010. During this period, she co-hosted the official show podcast alongside co-star Michael Urie and starred opposite him in the companion web series Mode After Hours. In late 2009, Newton also performed on stage as Molly Gray in a New York City Center Encores! production of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, sharing the stage with her husband.

Following Ugly Betty, Newton landed the lead role in the 2011 NBC romantic comedy series Love Bites. In late 2011, she was cast in a recurring role on CBS's How I Met Your Mother, portraying Quinn Garvey, a stripper who becomes the love interest of Neil Patrick Harris's character. She subsequently starred in the 2013 Fox comedy series The Goodwin Games.

In 2018, Newton began playing the recurring character Jackie Giannopolis on the HBO comedy series Divorce, appearing as the new partner of Thomas Haden Church's character. The following year, she partnered again with Urie to co-star in and executive produce a CBS television pilot named Fun, though the project ultimately did not proceed to series.

In February 2021, Newton was cast in the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer, taking over the role of Lorna Crane, the office manager and second former wife of Mickey Haller. In her personal life, she married actor Chris Diamantopoulos in May 2005 after meeting in a New York subway station. The couple has four children: a son born in 2010 and three daughters born in 2014, 2020, and 2022.
