Heidi Montag

Heidi Blair Pratt (née Montag) is an American reality television personality and singer. She gained widespread public recognition as a primary cast member on the MTV reality television series The Hills, which chronicled her personal and professional life alongside friends and fellow cast members. Over the course of her career, Montag has also released studio albums, launched a fashion line, co-authored a book, and appeared on numerous reality competition programs alongside her husband, Spencer Pratt.

Born on September 15, 1986, in Crested Butte, Colorado, Montag grew up with her parents, Darlene and Bill Montag, as well as an older sister, Holly, and a younger brother, Sky. After graduating from high school, she briefly attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she befriended Lauren Conrad. Both transferred to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. Montag subsequently dropped out of school and took an assistant position at event planning firm Bolthouse Productions.

In 2006, Montag was cast in The Hills, a spin-off of the reality series Laguna Beach. During production, her romantic relationship with Spencer Pratt led to a highly publicized falling-out with Conrad, which became a central focus for subsequent seasons of the series. The couple, frequently referred to in media as "Speidi," eloped in Mexico in November 2008 and later held a formal wedding ceremony in Pasadena, California, in April 2009. Montag and Pratt made their final appearance on the show during its sixth season in 2010.

Alongside her television work, Montag pursued a career in music. After releasing extended plays and promotional tracks, she digitally released her debut studio album, Superficial, in January 2010. During this period, Montag also received extensive media coverage following cosmetic surgery procedures and the launch of her clothing line, Heidiwood. Over the following years, Montag and Pratt competed on several reality television programs, including the American version of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2009, Famous Food in 2011, and two separate runs on the British series Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and 2017.

In 2019, Montag returned to MTV as part of the reboot series The Hills: New Beginnings. She continued her music career in subsequent years, releasing the Christian pop single "Glitter and Glory" and new tracks following a viral resurgence of her debut album's song "I'll Do It" on TikTok in 2023. Following a fire that destroyed her family's Pacific Palisades home in January 2025, Superficial rose to the top of the iTunes music charts in multiple countries.

Montag released her second studio album, Heidiwood, on May 30, 2025, followed by her third studio album, Masterpiece, on June 26, 2026. In 2026, she competed as "Snow Cone" on season fourteen of The Masked Singer alongside Pratt. In her personal life, Montag and Pratt have two sons, Gunner Stone, born in October 2017, and Ryker Pratt, born in November 2022.
