Heather Morris

Heather Elizabeth Morris is an American actress, dancer, and singer, best known for her role as Brittany S. Pierce in the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee. Born in Thousand Oaks, California, she was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, and began dancing at an early age in styles including jazz, tap, and contemporary. Following her graduation from Desert Mountain High School, where she was homecoming queen, Morris attended Arizona State University for one year before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a professional dance career.

Morris made her first major television appearance in 2006 on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance, advancing through Vegas Week. Her career breakthrough occurred in 2007 when she was hired as a backup dancer for Beyoncé on The Beyoncé Experience world tour. She continued working with Beyoncé on a promotional tour for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," performing on shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the 50th Annual Grammy Awards alongside Beyoncé and Tina Turner. These appearances led to dance roles in feature films and television series, including Fired Up, Eli Stone, Swingtown, and Bedtime Stories.

While taking acting classes, Morris was brought in by choreographer Zach Woodlee to teach the "Single Ladies" dance choreography to the cast of Glee. She was subsequently cast on the show as cheerleader Brittany S. Pierce. Initially a background character, her role expanded as show writers recognized her comedy skills. Morris was promoted to a series regular for the second season, performing numerous singing and dancing solos and starring in a acclaimed romantic storyline alongside co-star Naya Rivera. She remained with the series through its sixth and final season, returning for its 100th episode and the series finale.

Beyond her work on Glee, Morris competed on season 24 of Dancing with the Stars in 2017, partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Alan Bersten, where she was eliminated in the sixth week despite receiving the season's first perfect score. In 2022, she won the second season of The Masked Dancer competing under the character "Scissors." Her other media engagements include serving as the Celebrity Style Ambassador for FLIRT! Cosmetics in 2010, starring in a 2011 Staples Canada commercial, and co-writing and appearing in the 2011 Funny or Die comedy video "Nuthin' But A Glee Thang."

In 2020, Morris joined the faculty of the HEAT Convention and Competition, where she teaches master classes and serves as a judge. In her personal life, Morris married Taylor Hubbell on May 16, 2015. The couple has two sons.
