Jason Lewis

Jason Lewis is an American actor and former fashion model. He is best known for his role as Jerry "Smith" Jerrod in the television series Sex and the City, as well as its feature film adaptations, Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2.

Lewis was born on June 25, 1971, in Newport Beach, California, to Nancy, a nurse, and Gregory Lewis, a judge. His parents are divorced, and he has three siblings named Sean, Katie, and Nicole. He grew up in Los Alamitos, California, where he graduated from Los Alamitos High School, before attending college at San Diego State University.

After college, Lewis began modeling, starting in Paris before reaching star status in Milan during the late 1990s. As a model, he worked for several major brands, including Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, and Hugo Boss, among others.

Lewis made his acting debut in 1995 as a regular on the show High Sierra Search and Rescue. In 1997, he appeared on Beverly Hills, 90210 as Rob Andrews, a love interest of Valerie. His most prominent role arrived on Sex and the City, where he played waiter turned emerging actor Jerry "Smith" Jerrod during the show's final season. He later reprised the role in 2008's Sex and the City: The Movie and the 2010 sequel Sex and the City 2.

Lewis has appeared in various films, playing the leading man opposite Kashmera Shah in the Hollywood/Bollywood romantic comedy My Bollywood Bride, and appearing alongside Demi Moore and Kevin Costner in the thriller Mr. Brooks. He also starred in the 2011 Canadian movie Textuality. In Europe, he is known for playing the hunk in the Aero Advert for Aero Bubbles.

On television, Lewis played recurring character Dex Lawson on the supernatural drama Charmed. He was later cast on Brothers & Sisters as Chad Barry, a closeted soap opera actor, making guest appearances across seven episodes and returning for an episode in April 2009. His other television credits include playing a soap opera actor on House, appearing in the How I Met Your Mother episode "The Wedding Bride," playing Pete in the Israeli series Be With Her, and starring as Christopher Dollanganger in the TV movies If There Be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday.

Lewis was featured on the cover of the limited-edition coffee table book About Face by photographer John Russo. He is a supporter of the LGBT community and attended the 19th GLAAD Media Awards in May 2008. On September 8, 2022, he was announced as a contestant on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars, where he was paired with Peta Murgatroyd and finished in last place after being eliminated in week 1. In his personal life, Lewis announced his engagement to producer Liz Godwin on February 14, 2020.
