Tyler Posey

Tyler Garcia-Posey, born October 18, 1991, is an American actor and musician. He began his career as a child actor, gaining early recognition for his role as Raul Garcia in the television drama Doc from 2001 to 2004 and his performance as Ty Ventura in the 2002 romantic comedy Maid in Manhattan. He also appeared in the film Collateral Damage in 2002 and regularly auditioned for child acting roles alongside his friend Taylor Lautner.

Posey was born in Santa Monica, California, to actor-writer John Posey and Cyndi Terese Garcia. Raised in Santa Clarita, California, alongside one older brother and one younger brother, he is of Mexican descent through his mother's side of the family.

His breakout role came in 2011 when he was cast as the lead character Scott McCall in the MTV series Teen Wolf, a show he starred in through 2017. In the series, his character is a high school student who is bitten by a werewolf and must keep it secret while protecting others. Posey also took on a role as a co-producer for the fifth season of the show in 2015. During this time, he voiced a character in the Disney short SheZow in 2011 and co-starred in the 2012 film White Frog.

Following Teen Wolf, Posey appeared in various film and television projects. He starred as Lucas Moreno in the 2018 Blumhouse supernatural thriller Truth or Dare and played Shane in the third season of the slasher series Scream in 2019. That same year, he co-starred in the Netflix film The Last Summer and provided voice work for the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. He later starred in the 2020 horror film Alone, reprised his lead role and served as a producer for Teen Wolf: The Movie in 2023, competed as Hawk on The Masked Singer in 2023, and appeared on the reality show The Surreal Life in 2024.

Alongside his acting career, Posey has been active as a musician. He co-founded and played guitar in the band Lost in Kostko, later named Disappearing Jamie, releasing an eight-track EP titled You're Going to Need a Towel in 2011 before breaking up in 2013. He later contributed guitar and vocals for the pop punk band PVMNTS, releasing the EP Better Days in 2018, before departing to form Five North with Kyle Murphy and Scott Eckel. Five North released their debut EP Scumbag in 2020.

For his performance in Teen Wolf, Posey won two Teen Choice Awards, a Young Hollywood Award, and an ALMA Award. His work on the series also earned him nominations for a Saturn Award and a People's Choice Award.

In his personal life, Posey began dating singer Phem in 2020, and the couple married in October 2023. Posey has publicly discussed his personal history with addiction and sobriety, as well as coming out as queer and sexually fluid.
