About Han
Han Ji-sung (born September 14, 2000), known as Han, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is a member of the South Korean boy band Stray Kids and its production unit 3Racha under JYP Entertainment. As a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano and guitar, Han contributes significantly to the musical output of Stray Kids as well as works for other artists.
Han was born in Incheon, South Korea, as the younger of two sons. His family moved to Mokpo, where he attended elementary school, and later relocated to Malaysia. There, he briefly attended Fairview International School before being homeschooled. At fourteen, Han returned to South Korea to audition as a K-pop idol under a promise to his parents to complete the Korean Qualification Exam if unsuccessful within a year. Three months after returning, he auditioned for JYP Entertainment and was accepted as a trainee following a second audition. He later enrolled at Gukje Cyber University to study performance and broadcast entertainment.
While a trainee, Han attended Def Music Academy and co-founded 3Racha in 2016 with Bang Chan and Changbin. Using the alias J.One, Han released three pre-debut mixtapes on SoundCloud with 3Racha in 2017. Later that year, he participated in the reality competition series Stray Kids, officially debuting with the group on March 25, 2018, through the extended play I Am Not. In mid-2024, Han renewed his contract with JYP Entertainment alongside his bandmates.
As part of 3Racha, Han serves as a primary songwriter and producer for Stray Kids. He has contributed to soundtracks for projects such as Tower of God, RE: Revenge – At the End of Desire, Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia, and Deadpool & Wolverine. Han has also written and produced tracks for artists such as NiziU, Show Lo, Yao Chen, JO1, and Nexz, and collaborated with musicians including Sky-Hi, Tiger JK, Lil Durk, and Lisa. His solo soundtrack credits include "Updraft" for Typhoon Family and "Let It Show" for Yumi's Cells.
Han is the most prolific contributor to Stray Kids' SKZ-Record/Player project, releasing thirteen original solo tracks—including "Close", "Alien", "Volcano", and "Hold My Hand"—along with sub-unit songs and covers. Several of these were included on the compilation album SKZ-Replay and the special album Hop.
In February 2023, Han became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association, making him the youngest K-pop idol to earn the distinction. His individual media appearances include King of Masked Singer and LeeMujin Service. Han has received positive recognition for his stage presence, vocal range, and fast rapping style, placing sixth on Billboard's 2024 K-Pop Artist 100.
