Tori Spelling

Victoria Davey Spelling (born May 16, 1973) is an American actress best known for her role as Donna Martin on the television series Beverly Hills, 90210, which she played from 1990 to 2000. Over her career, she has starred in numerous made-for-television movies, independent films, and reality television programs, while also becoming a published author whose autobiography, Stori Telling, topped the New York Times Best Seller list.

Born in Los Angeles, Spelling is the daughter of Candy and Aaron Spelling. She comes from a Jewish family with ancestry from Russia and Poland, and her middle name was chosen in honor of her paternal grandfather, David. Spelling took acting lessons starting at age six and attended the Westlake School, an elite all-girls private institution, graduating before its 1991 merger into the Harvard-Westlake School. She has a younger brother, Randy, who worked as an actor before becoming a life coach.

As a child, Spelling made early television appearances on programs including The Love Boat, T. J. Hooker, Hotel, Fantasy Island, Vega$, and Saved by the Bell. At age 17, she was cast as Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, co-produced by her father's production company. She stayed with the show for its entire ten-year duration and earned two Young Artist Award nominations. During the series' run, she also starred in television movies such as A Friend to Die For, Co-ed Call Girl, and Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?, as well as independent feature films including The House of Yes and Trick.

Spelling's later film credits include Scary Movie 2, Cthulhu, Kiss the Bride, and the animated feature Izzie's Way Home. In 2006, she starred in the VH1 sitcom So Notorious, playing a satirical version of herself. She and her second husband, Dean McDermott, subsequently starred in several reality television series, including Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, sTORIbook Weddings, Cabin Fever, and True Tori. Her other television work includes hosting Craft Wars and The Look: All Stars, appearing as a guest star on 90210 and Yo Gabba Gabba!, and competing as a contestant on multiple international versions of The Masked Singer.

In addition to acting, Spelling launched a fashion and jewelry line on HSN and authored several books, including Mommywood, Uncharted TerriTORI, and Spelling It Like It Is. In 2014, she starred in the ABC Family series Mystery Girls, and in 2019, she reunited with her original castmates for the six-episode fictionalized reboot BH90210. She began co-hosting the re-watch podcast 9021OMG in 2020 and was named a competitor on season 33 of Dancing with the Stars in 2024.

Spelling was married to actor and writer Charlie Shanian from 2004 until their divorce was finalized in April 2006. She married Dean McDermott in May 2006, and the couple has five children together. Following a separation, Spelling filed for divorce in March 2024, which became final in November 2025 with the parents sharing joint legal custody of their minor children.
