Christopher Masterson

Christopher Kennedy Masterson is an American actor and disc jockey who was born on January 22, 1980. He is best known for his performance as Francis on the Fox television network's sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.

Masterson was born on Long Island, New York, to his mother Carol Masterson, a talent manager, and his father Peter Masterson, an insurance agent. He comes from a family active in the performing arts. His older brother, Danny Masterson, is an actor, and his younger half-siblings, Jordan Masterson and Alanna Masterson, are actors as well. Like his brother Danny, Masterson practices Scientology, and the two brothers have jointly invested in restaurants.

Masterson achieved widespread public recognition for his portrayal of Francis, the rebellious oldest brother of the title character played by Frankie Muniz, on Malcolm in the Middle. He appeared as a central cast member throughout the sitcom's seven-season run, which broadcast from 2000 to 2006.

In feature films, Masterson played the role of Scotty O'Neal in My Best Friend's Wedding and appeared in a supporting role in the comedy Scary Movie 2. He starred as Geoff in the 2000 direct-to-video release Dragonheart: A New Beginning, which served as a sequel to Dragonheart. Masterson also played leading roles in the feature films Waterborne, Made for Each Other, and Intellectual Property.

Alongside his regular starring roles, Masterson appeared in several television projects. In 2003, he played Edward in the MTV television movie Wuthering Heights. He guest-starred in three episodes of That '70s Show, a series that featured his brother Danny. His other television guest credits include portraying Josh Roland in the USA Network series White Collar in the episode titled "Where There's a Will." In 2012, he appeared as a concierge named Archie on the TBS series Men at Work, a show in which his brother played a main character, though the two did not appear together in any scenes.

In his personal life, Masterson was in a long-term relationship with actress Laura Prepon from 1999 to 2007. He married actress Yolanda Pecoraro on June 25, 2019. The couple welcomed their daughter in April 2021.
