Tara Reid

Tara Donna Reid, born November 8, 1975, is an American actress. Her film roles established her status as a sex symbol in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She is widely known for her ensemble role as Vicky Lathum in the American Pie film franchise, her co-lead role as April Wexler in the Sharknado television film series, and lead roles in feature films such as Urban Legend, Josie and the Pussycats, Van Wilder, and Alone in the Dark.

Reid was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the daughter of teachers and day-care center owners Donna and Thomas Reid, with her father also working on Wall Street. She is of primarily Irish descent along with Scottish, Italian, French, Hungarian, and English ancestry. She grew up with a brother named Tom and twin younger siblings, Colleen and Patrick. Reid attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan.

Reid began her acting career at age six, appearing on the game show Child's Play and in commercials for brands including Jell-O, McDonald's, Crayola, and Milton Bradley. As a teenager, she appeared on Saved by the Bell: The New Class. After moving to Hollywood in 1997, she transitioned to feature films with a role in the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski. That same year, she had a larger role in Urban Legend, followed by an appearance in Cruel Intentions in 1999.

Reid achieved mainstream success portraying Vickie in American Pie (1999), her first film to top the domestic box office. She reprised the character in American Pie 2 (2001) and American Reunion (2012). During the early 2000s, she starred in films such as Body Shots, Dr. T & the Women, Just Visiting, Josie and the Pussycats, and Van Wilder. Her performance alongside Ashton Kutcher in My Boss's Daughter earned her Golden Raspberry Award nominations for Worst Supporting Actress and Worst Screen Couple. In 2005, she starred in Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark, receiving another Razzie nomination for Worst Actress.

In television, Reid played recurring roles as Ashley on Days of Our Lives in 1995 and Danni Sullivan on Scrubs from 2003 to 2005. She hosted her own reality travel series, Taradise, on E! in 2005. Between 2013 and 2018, she starred as April Wexler across six Sharknado television movies. Her other television and film work includes the television movie Vipers, the direct-to-video release Clean Break/Unnatural Causes, the thriller The Fields, reality appearances on Celebrity Big Brother 8 and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, and a guest appearance as herself on The Boys.

Outside of acting, Reid has appeared on the covers of magazines such as Rolling Stone, Maxim, Playboy, and FHM. In 2007, she invested in several restaurants, including opening Ketchup in Los Angeles. She launched the Mantra clothing line in 2009 alongside Christian Audigier, followed by a swimwear line and the perfume Shark by Tara in 2014.
