Seann William Scott

Seann William Scott is an American actor best known for his breakout role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie comedy film series. He is also recognized for starring as Doug Glatt in the Canadian sports comedy Goon and its sequel, as well as providing the voice for Crash in the Ice Age animated franchise.

Scott was born on October 3, 1976, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, to Patricia Anne Simons and William Frank Scott. The youngest of seven siblings, he attended Park High School, where he competed on the varsity football and basketball teams. After graduating, Scott studied at the University of Wisconsin and Glendale Community College before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

To support himself early in his career, Scott worked at The Home Depot and the Los Angeles Zoo, while also appearing in an Aerosmith music video. He made his television debut in 1996 on the sitcom Unhappily Ever After. Scott achieved his major career breakthrough in 1999 when he was cast as Steve Stifler in American Pie. He subsequently reprised the character in three sequels: American Pie 2 in 2001, American Wedding in 2003, and American Reunion in 2012.

Following his breakout role, Scott built a prolific film career throughout the 2000s. His early film credits include Final Destination, Road Trip, Dude, Where's My Car?, Evolution, The Rundown, Old School, and Bulletproof Monk. He later starred as Bo Duke in the 2005 film adaptation of The Dukes of Hazzard and appeared in projects such as Southland Tales, Mr. Woodcock, and Role Models. During this period, Scott also co-hosted the 2003 MTV Movie Awards, hosted Saturday Night Live, and voiced Crash in multiple Ice Age feature films and television specials.

In the 2010s and 2020s, Scott expanded into diverse film and television projects. He starred in the action comedy Cop Out, played the lead role in Goon and its 2017 sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, and appeared in films such as Just Before I Go, Bloodline, Already Gone, and The Wrath of Becky. On television, Scott joined the main cast of the Fox drama Lethal Weapon from 2018 to 2019, starred in the comedy series Welcome to Flatch from 2022 to 2023, and was cast in the sitcom Shifting Gears starting in 2025.

Throughout his career, Scott has earned several fan and industry honors, including two Teen Choice Awards and two MTV Movie Awards for his work in the American Pie franchise. In 2012, he was presented with an honorary medal from the Philosophical Society at Trinity College.

In his personal life, Scott married interior designer Olivia Korenberg in September 2019, and the couple welcomed a daughter in June 2020. Scott filed for divorce in February 2024, with the former couple agreeing to share joint custody of their child.
