Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Anne Garner is an American actress known for her roles across television and film. She rose to prominent fame in the early 2000s for her portrayal of secret agent Sydney Bristow in the action thriller series Alias. Beyond her television work, she gained recognition for starring in romantic comedies such as 13 Going on 30, Juno, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and Valentine's Day, as well as playing the superhero character Elektra in films including Daredevil and Deadpool & Wolverine.

Garner was born on April 17, 1972, in Houston, Texas, and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. Her father worked as a chemical engineer, and her mother was a homemaker who later taught English at a local college. Garner grew up in a conservative United Methodist household alongside two sisters. She attended George Washington High School before enrolling at Denison University in 1990, where she changed her major from chemistry to theater. She graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater performance.

Garner began her professional acting career performing in summer stock theatre and working as an understudy for the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City. During the mid-to-late 1990s, she made early television and film appearances in productions such as Zoya, Harvest of Fire, Washington Square, and Rose Hill. She gained regular television roles on the series Significant Others, Felicity, and Time of Your Life, while also making guest appearances on shows like Law & Order and Spin City.

In 2001, Garner secured her breakout role as Sydney Bristow in Alias, a series created by J. J. Abrams that ran for five seasons until 2006. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe Award and four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. During this era, she appeared in feature films including Pearl Harbor, Catch Me If You Can, Daredevil, 13 Going on 30, and Juno. In 2007, she also performed on Broadway as Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac alongside Kevin Kline.

Throughout the 2010s and 2020s, Garner continued starring in a variety of film and television projects. Her film credits include Valentine's Day, Arthur, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Butter, Dallas Buyers Club, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Love, Simon, Peppermint, Yes Day, and The Adam Project. On television, she starred in the Apple TV drama series The Last Thing He Told Me and reprised her role as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Outside of her acting career, Garner serves as an advocate for early childhood education and is a board member for Save the Children USA. She is the co-founder and chief brand officer of Once Upon a Farm, an organic baby food company, and has worked as a spokesperson for brands such as Neutrogena and Luvo. Additionally, she is a vocal advocate for anti-paparazzi campaigns designed to protect the children of celebrities.
