Elden Henson

Elden Henson, born Elden Ryan Ratliff, is an American actor who achieved prominence through his performances in major feature films and television series. He gained widespread recognition for portraying Fulton Reed in The Mighty Ducks film trilogy, playing Pollux in the two-part film adaptation of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and portraying attorney Foggy Nelson across multiple television projects within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Born on August 30, 1977, in Rockville, Maryland, Henson was raised in a family tied to entertainment and education. His mother worked as an educator and former photographer, while his father was a former New York theater actor. Raised alongside two brothers who also pursued acting careers and a younger half-brother who joined the band R5, Henson spent much of his youth in Burbank, California. He attended John Burroughs High School before briefly taking classes at Emerson College.

Henson began working in the entertainment industry as a toddler, starting out as a print model represented by the children's division of Ford Models. He obtained his Screen Actors Guild card in 1982 and began appearing in commercials at age six. Throughout his childhood, he secured guest roles on television as well as appearances in feature films, including the 1988 release Elvis and Me and the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.

His breakthrough arrived when he was cast as Fulton Reed in the 1992 sports movie The Mighty Ducks. He reprised the role in the follow-up feature films D2: The Mighty Ducks in 1994 and D3: The Mighty Ducks in 1996. Henson later expressed strong affection for the trilogy, crediting the franchise with establishing his career and granting him enduring recognition from audiences.

During his twenties, Henson appeared in a wide array of feature films, including The Mighty, She's All That, Idle Hands, O, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, and The Butterfly Effect. He took on lead roles in the 1999 television movie Gift of Love: The Daniel Huffman Story and the 2003 film The Battle of Shaker Heights. Alongside his acting work during this period, Henson co-managed a film production company called Roulette Entertainment with fellow actor Josh Hartnett. He later added film roles in Lords of Dogtown and Deja Vu, as well as a four-episode arc on the television series Smith.

In 2013, Henson portrayed computer engineer Andy Hertzfeld in the biographical movie Jobs. He was subsequently cast as Pollux in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2, which were shot back-to-back in Atlanta and Berlin before releasing in 2014 and 2015.

Henson joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015 as Foggy Nelson in the Netflix series Daredevil. He won the role following a video conference audition where he held his phone incorrectly and appeared upside down, an incident that helped convince production executives he fit the character. Henson played Nelson across all three seasons of Daredevil, appeared in the crossover miniseries The Defenders, made cameo appearances in the second seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, and reprised his role for the revival series Daredevil: Born Again.

Henson resides in Los Angeles and has one son with his former wife, Kira Sternbach.
