Álvaro Luis "Tony" Bernat Dalton is an American and Mexican actor, screenwriter, and director. Throughout much of his career, he has appeared in Mexican feature films, television programs, and stage plays. He is widely recognized internationally for his portrayal of Lalo Salamanca in the American drama series Better Call Saul, as well as his roles in Marvel Cinematic Universe television productions.

Dalton was born on February 13, 1975, in Laredo, Texas, to a mother from the United States and a father from Mexico. He spent his childhood growing up in Mexico City. For his education, he attended the Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts, before pursuing formal acting training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.

Dalton began establishing his career in Mexican entertainment during the early 2000s. His first major television role came on the Mexican telenovela Rebelde, in which he appeared from 2004 to 2006. In 2004, he made his feature film debut in Matando Cabos, a project he also co-wrote. He continued writing for cinema with the 2007 action feature Sultanes del Sur, in which he also played the lead role. His other notable Mexican film appearances include Violanchelo in 2008 and The Perfect Dictatorship in 2014.

In addition to film, Dalton built a strong television presence across Latin America. He secured a supporting role on the HBO Latin America series Capadocia in 2008. He subsequently played the primary lead character in the HBO series Sr. Ávila, which ran through 2017. The program won an International Emmy Award for Best Non-English Language Series, and Dalton expanded his creative contributions by directing a season four episode titled "Respetuosamente." His stage credits in theater include roles in the 2009 production El año próximo a la misma hora and the 2017 play Juegos de poder.

Dalton achieved widespread international fame after joining the cast of Better Call Saul as Lalo Salamanca, debuting in the fourth season episode "Coushatta." He remained a central figure on the show through 2022. His performance earned praise from critics, who cited the character as one of the standout villains on television. His work on the series resulted in two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and two Saturn Award nominations.

Impressed by his work in Better Call Saul, executive producer Trinh Tran cast Dalton as Jack Duquesne, also known as Swordsman, in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries Hawkeye. He was later cast to reprise the role of Jack Duquesne in the series Daredevil: Born Again. In 2023, Dalton expanded into audio narration, serving as the narrator for the podcast series Dead in the Water.
