Claudia Gerini

Claudia Gerini is an Italian actress and singer born in Rome, Italy, on December 18, 1971. She first gained national attention at age 13 when she won the Miss Teenager beauty contest in 1985. Shortly after, she made her acting debut in the 1986 film La ballata di Eva.

Following her debut, Gerini appeared in several feature films, including Sergio Corbucci's Roba da Ricchi in 1987. In 1990, she joined the cast of the television program Non è la Rai. She later secured her first major film role in Pasquale Pozzessere's 1994 drama Il padre e il figlio.

During her early twenties, Gerini moved to Paris to learn French while continuing her university studies in sociology. Upon returning to Italy at age 22, she starred as the protagonist in the theatrical production Angelo e Beatrice at the Theater Coliseum in Rome. Director and actor Carlo Verdone spotted her during this stage performance, leading to her casting in his 1995 film Viaggi di nozze. The movie served as her breakthrough project with the Italian public and prompted her to end her university studies. She collaborated with Verdone again the following year in I'm Crazy About Iris Blond, with both productions achieving commercial success at the Christmas box office.

Over the course of her career, Gerini has expanded her filmography through international and domestic projects. In Spain, she starred in M. G. Pereira's Desafinado and M. Camus's La playa de Los Galagos. Her additional film credits include Lina Wertmüller's Francesca e Nunziata and Giuseppe Tornatore's La sconosciuta (2006). She has also collaborated with filmmakers and actors such as Leonardo Pieraccioni, Massimo Ceccherini, Antonio Rezza, and Antonello De Leo, as well as appearing in films directed by her former partner, singer-songwriter Federico Zampaglione.

In her personal life, Gerini is the mother of two daughters: Rosa, with former partner Alessandro Enginoli, and Linda, with Zampaglione. She spent time living in Los Angeles during her twenties and during Zampaglione's album recording sessions there. Her later relationships include Simon Clementi between 2019 and 2021, with a brief revival in 2023, and Riccardo Sangiuliano, whom she began dating in 2024.
