Jana Kramer

Jana Rae Kramer is an American actress and country music singer born on December 2, 1983, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She is best known for her role as Alex Dupre on The CW's teen drama series One Tree Hill, in which she appeared from 2009 to 2012. Aside from her television work, Kramer has established a country music career, releasing two studio albums and achieving multiple charted singles on the Billboard country charts.

Kramer was raised in Michigan by her parents, Nora and Martin Kramer, alongside her elder brother, Steve. Her ancestry includes German, Slovak, and Irish heritage, and she speaks some German. Following her parents' divorce, she lived in Dearborn, Michigan, and later graduated from Rochester Adams High School in 2002. She then moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue acting before eventually relocating to Nashville, Tennessee.

She made her acting debut in the 2002 independent film Dead/Undead and her television debut in 2003 on All My Children. Over the following years, she appeared in guest roles on series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, CSI: NY, Friday Night Lights, 90210, and Entourage. In 2009, Kramer joined the cast of One Tree Hill as Alex Dupre, eventually becoming a series regular before exiting in 2012 to focus on music. Her film credits include supporting roles in Click, Prom Night, Spring Breakdown, and Heart of the Country.

Kramer signed a recording contract with Elektra Records in February 2011. After premiering promotional tracks on One Tree Hill, she released her self-titled debut album, Jana Kramer, in June 2012. The album produced the single "Why Ya Wanna," which reached number three on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In 2015, she released her second album, Thirty One. Overall, her music career has generated seven charted singles across Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, including the top 10 hit "I Got the Boy."

In addition to her music releases, Kramer featured in a series of national commercials for Nationwide Insurance starting in 2013 and opened for Blake Shelton on his Ten Times Crazier Tour. She competed on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars, placing fourth. In 2024, she starred in and executive produced the Lifetime television film Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story and competed as "Royal Knight" on season twelve of The Masked Singer.

Kramer has been married four times. She married Michael Gambino in 2004, Johnathon Schaech in 2010, and Mike Caussin in 2015, with whom she has two children, Jolie Rae and Jace Joseph, prior to their 2021 divorce. In July 2024, Kramer married Scottish football player Allan Russell, with whom she shares a son, Roman James, born in November 2023.
