Shiloh Fernandez

Shiloh Fernandez is an American actor and model born on February 26, 1985. He is best known for his television roles in Jericho and United States of Tara, as well as his feature film appearances in Deadgirl, Red Riding Hood, and the 2013 remake of Evil Dead. He also portrayed and voiced the character David Allen in the 2022 video game Evil Dead: The Game.

Fernandez was born in Ukiah, California. His father is of half Portuguese and half Russian Jewish descent, while his mother has British ancestry. He grew up with a younger sister and a brother, and his stepfather worked as a contractor. Prior to acting, Fernandez worked as a dishwasher and as a catalog model for American Apparel after being selected by CEO Dov Charney. After arriving in Los Angeles, he asked Charney for work and was hired as a stock boy. His initial acting role was in a commercial for First 5 California directed by Vadim Perelman.

After completing a short film, Fernandez made his television debut in a 2006 episode of Cold Case, followed by minor roles in Drake & Josh and Lincoln Heights. His film debut came in 2007 as Edgar in Interstate. Between 2006 and 2007, he secured his first recurring television role as Sean Henthorn on Jericho. In 2008, he auditioned in Catherine Hardwicke's Venice Beach garage for the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, becoming a front-runner before the role ultimately went to Robert Pattinson.

Without formal acting training, Fernandez continued working across television and film, appearing in series such as CSI: NY and United States of Tara, and playing Owen Campos in the Gossip Girl episode "Valley Girls" alongside Brittany Snow and Krysten Ritter. He achieved his first major feature break playing a troubled Texas rink manager in the 2010 Sundance hit Skateland with Ashley Greene.

Hardwicke subsequently cast Fernandez as his first romantic lead opposite Amanda Seyfried in the 2011 film Red Riding Hood, which served as his Hollywood movie breakthrough. Following this role, MTV Networks' NextMovie.com named him one of the Breakout Stars to Watch for in 2011. During this period, he featured as the cover model for the March 2011 issue of Nylon Guys and the April/May 2011 issue of Da Man magazine.

In 2013, Fernandez starred in the remake of Evil Dead as David Allen and appeared in the independent film Syrup, based on the novel by Max Barry. In March 2015, he was cast in the Canadian thriller film Edge of Winter alongside Joel Kinnaman and Tom Holland. On October 8, 2022, Fernandez married his longtime girlfriend, Emily Tremaine, at the Cavalli Estate in San Luis Obispo, California.
