Kellan Lutz

Kellan Christopher Lutz is an American actor and model. He is best known for portraying Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga film series from 2008 to 2012. Over the course of his career, he has appeared in various feature films, television shows, and modeling campaigns, taking on major roles in action, drama, and fantasy projects.

Lutz was born on March 15, 1985, in Dickinson, North Dakota, to Karla and Bradley Lutz. Raised alongside his six brothers in the Midwest and Arizona, he graduated from Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. He initially attended Chapman University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering before deciding to pursue an acting career.

He began his career with recurring roles on television series such as Model Citizens and The Comeback, alongside guest appearances on shows including Six Feet Under, CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Summerland, and Heroes. He made his feature film debut in Stick It in 2006, followed by roles in Accepted and Prom Night. During this period, he also performed on stage in California, hosted the show Blow Out, and appeared in music videos for artists such as Hilary Duff and Hinder. His breakthrough came in 2008 when he was cast as Emmett Cullen in Twilight, a role he reprised across all four follow-up films through 2012.

Following his breakthrough, Lutz appeared in the miniseries Generation Kill and the television series 90210. He went on to secure roles in major feature films, playing Poseidon in Immortals, voicing the title character in the 2013 animated film Tarzan, portraying John Smilee in The Expendables 3, and playing the title character in The Legend of Hercules. His additional film credits include A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Warrior's Heart, Java Heat, Money, Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child, and Guardians of the Tomb. Aside from acting, Lutz signed with Ford Models and was featured in the 2010 Calvin Klein X underwear campaign.

On television, Lutz made a guest appearance on 30 Rock playing a version of himself. From 2020 to 2021, he co-starred as FBI Special Agent Kenny Crosby on the CBS action thriller series FBI: Most Wanted, leaving during the third-season premiere to move his family back to California.

Outside of entertainment, Lutz has been involved in philanthropic efforts and business. His primary charity work is with Saving Innocence, serving as a public ambassador since 2011 to help child victims of sex trafficking, for which he was named GQ's Gentleman of the Year. He has also supported PETA, Ape Action Africa, The Paw Project, and New Orleans rebuilding efforts through the St. Bernard Project. In 2013, he co-founded Foresight Creative Group, a product development company focused on his patents and inventions.

In his personal life, Lutz practices martial arts, holding black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and is trained in boxing. He married TV host and model Brittany Gonzales in November 2017. The couple had a daughter born in February 2021 and a son born in August 2022.
