Julia Jones

Julia Jones is an American actress born on January 23, 1981. She is best known for portraying Leah Clearwater in The Twilight Saga film series and Angela Bishop in the television series Dexter: New Blood. She also received recognition for her guest role as Kohana in "Kiksuya," an episode of the series Westworld.

Jones was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Frank Jones and Penny Wells, and grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston with her younger brother, Cody. Her mother is of English descent, while her father is of Choctaw, Chickasaw, and African-American heritage. She trained at the Boston Ballet School starting at age four and began appearing in commercials and local theatre productions at age eight. Jones graduated from Boston Latin School in 1999 and later earned a bachelor's degree in English from Columbia University in 2005.

In her early career, Jones worked as a commercial model, appearing in catalogues for brands such as Levi Strauss & Co., Gap Inc., Esprit Holdings, and L'Oréal. She was also featured in the music video for Chuck Wicks's song "Hold That Thought."

Jones performed in independent films before landing a role in the Quentin Tarantino-produced film Hell Ride, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. She played Dr. Kaya Montoya during the final two seasons of the medical drama ER. In 2009, she appeared in the stage production Palestine, New Mexico, presented by Culture Clash at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

In 2010, Jones appeared in the film Jonah Hex and was cast as Leah Clearwater in the final three installments of The Twilight Saga. Her subsequent projects included playing the female lead in the 2015 film The Ridiculous 6 and portraying the character Gab on the Netflix series Longmire.

Jones guest-starred as Kohana in the 2018 Westworld episode "Kiksuya," which was widely acclaimed during the show's four-year run. In 2019, she appeared in "Chapter 4: Sanctuary," an episode of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She later played the uncredited role of Chafa, the first Choctaw, in the 2024 miniseries Echo.
