Monster is Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Netflix true-crime anthology, each season re-examining a notorious real-life case. Its fourth installment turns to 1892 Massachusetts and one of America’s most enduring unsolved mysteries: the axe murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, and the trial of the daughter accused of killing them.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story premieres September 17, 2026. It is the first season to place a woman at the centre as the anthology’s title figure, with Lizzie Borden played by Ella Beatty.
