Giovanni Ribisi

Antonino Giovanni Ribisi is an American actor known for his extensive work across film and television. Born on December 17, 1974, he established himself as a versatile screen performer through prominent roles in feature films, comedy series, and television dramas.

Raised in Los Angeles, Ribisi grew up in a family active in the entertainment industry. His father, Al Ribisi, was a keyboard player for the musical group People!, while his mother, Gay, worked as a manager for actors and writers. Ribisi is the twin brother of actress Marissa Ribisi and the older brother of voice actress Gina Ribisi.

Ribisi began his acting career as a youth during the 1980s with a role in the television sitcom My Two Dads. He continued working in television throughout the 1990s, securing recurring parts in series such as The Wonder Years and portraying the half-brother of Phoebe Buffay in Friends. His performance in My Name Is Earl later earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

By the late 1990s, Ribisi took on major roles in a wide range of feature films. His film credits include That Thing You Do!, Saving Private Ryan, Gone in 60 Seconds, Heaven, Flight of the Phoenix, Perfect Stranger, Public Enemies, Gangster Squad, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and Papa: Hemingway in Cuba. He also played Parker Selfridge in the Avatar franchise and appeared as H. Silas Pickering in Horizon: An American Saga.

In television, Ribisi earned leading roles in several major projects. He starred in the sitcom Dads and portrayed the central character, Marius, who assumes the identity of Pete, across three seasons of the crime drama series Sneaky Pete. He was also cast as boxing trainer Angelo Dundee in the Amazon Prime Video limited series The Greatest.

Beyond his acting career, Ribisi has worked behind the camera. In 2016, he directed the music video for the song Siberian Nights by The Kills. He made his feature film debut as a cinematographer on the 2024 independent production Strange Darling. Ribisi also collects cinematography hardware, including VistaVision equipment that was loaned for use on the film One Battle After Another.

In his personal life, Ribisi was married to actress Mariah O'Brien from 1997 until their divorce in 2001, and the two have a daughter, artist Lucia Santina Ribisi. He later lived with indie rock singer-songwriter Cat Power for five years before their relationship ended in 2012. Ribisi married model Agyness Deyn in June 2012 and filed for divorce in January 2015. He later announced the birth of fraternal twins with his girlfriend, Emily Ward, in December 2018. Ribisi is an active Scientologist who attended the opening of the Psychiatry: An Industry of Death museum in December 2005.
