Tom Brady

Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. is an American former professional football quarterback who played 23 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time, he played 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, contributing to the franchise's dynasty from 2001 to 2019, before completing his final three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Following his playing career, Brady became the lead color commentator for the NFL on Fox and a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.

Brady was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California. Raised Catholic, he attended Junípero Serra High School, where he competed in football, basketball, and baseball, graduating in 1995. Although selected as a catcher by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Brady chose to pursue college football. He attended the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1999, playing for the Michigan Wolverines. After serving as a backup for his early college years, he started every game during the 1998 and 1999 seasons, earning All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention honors twice and leading Michigan to victories in the 1999 Citrus Bowl and 2000 Orange Bowl. He graduated in December 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.

Brady was selected 1999 overall by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. He became the starting quarterback during his second season in 2001, leading the team to its first championship in Super Bowl XXXVI. As the main starter for 18 seasons in New England, Brady led the Patriots to 17 division titles, 13 AFC Championship Games, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl titles. He joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, leading the team to a victory in Super Bowl LV.

Across his 23-season career, Brady broke numerous NFL records, including most career passing yards, completions, touchdown passes, games started, and total wins by a quarterback in both the regular season and playoffs. He appeared in a record 10 Super Bowls and won seven, more than any individual player or franchise. He is one of two quarterbacks to win Super Bowls with multiple franchises and the only player to win Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors with two different teams.

Brady's accolades include three NFL MVP awards, five Super Bowl MVP awards, 15 Pro Bowl selections, and the first unanimous NFL MVP selection in 2010. He was named to both the 2000s and 2010s All-Decade Teams and the 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. Known for his career longevity, he was the oldest player to win NFL MVP at age 40 and Super Bowl MVP at age 43.
