Tom Felton

Thomas Andrew Felton (born 22 September 1987) is an English actor. He is best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter fantasy novel series, appearing in eight films from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). Beyond his long-running role in the franchise, Felton has built a versatile career across feature films, television, stage productions, and independent music.

Born in Epsom, Surrey, to Peter Felton and Sharon Anstey, Felton grew up alongside three older brothers and was raised Anglican. During his youth, he developed an interest in singing and joined school choirs, earning an offer for a place in the Guildford Cathedral Choir. He attended Cranmore School in West Horsley until age eleven and continued his secondary education at the Howard of Effingham School, where his schedule was arranged to accommodate his early filming commitments.

Felton began acting in commercials for brands like Barclaycard and Commercial Union. He made his feature film debut as Peagreen Clock in The Borrowers (1997). In the late 1990s, he voiced James in the television series Bugs, appeared in the drama Second Sight, and played Louis T. Leonowens in the movie Anna and the King (1999). After auditioning for the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, Felton was ultimately cast as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which released in 2001 to critical and commercial success.

Felton portrayed Malfoy throughout the entire Harry Potter film series, earning praise for his performance as well as back-to-back MTV Movie Awards for Best Villain in 2010 and 2011. Alongside his acting work during this period, he ventured into music, launching the independent record label Six String Productions, releasing original tracks under the online name "Feltbeats," and recording the music album In Good Hands. He also appeared in screen projects such as the thriller The Disappeared (2009) and the blockbuster Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011).

Following the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, Felton appeared in films across several genres, including the period drama Belle (2013), Thérèse (2013), Against the Sun (2014), Risen (2016), A United Kingdom (2016), Megan Leavey (2017), Ophelia (2018), and A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting (2020). On television, he held recurring and main roles in series such as Murder in the First, Doctor Alchemy in The CW's The Flash, and the science fiction drama Origin.

In 2022, Felton made his West End theatre debut in London in 2:22 A Ghost Story and published his memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard, which reached number one on The New York Times Best Seller list. He subsequently acted in films such as Some Other Woman (2023) and Altered (2024), and played Josiah Oldfield in the Indian series Gandhi. In 2025, he returned to his signature role of Draco Malfoy for the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
