Freddie Stroma

Frederic Wilhelm C. J. Sjöström, known professionally as Freddie Stroma, is a British actor and model born on 8 January 1987. He is best known for portraying Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter film series, Adam Cromwell in the Lifetime series Unreal, Brit Vayner in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, H. G. Wells in the series Time After Time, Luke in Pitch Perfect, and Adrian Chase / Vigilante in the DC Universe series Peacemaker.

Stroma was born in London, England, to a Swedish father, Stefan Sjöström, and a German-French mother, Crystal Kupper. Raised in Ascot, Berkshire, alongside an older sister and a younger brother, he attended Sunningdale School and Radley College, graduating in 2005. At age 16, he joined the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. While studying neuroscience at University College London, he modeled and acted to help pay for his education, including modeling for Acne Underwear in 2008. He took a year off to film his breakout role in the Harry Potter series before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience in 2009.

During his university years, Stroma gained early television roles on British shows such as Casualty and Mayo. His prominent film career began when he was cast as Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a character he reprised in both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In 2010, he appeared in the crime-thriller 4.3.2.1, followed by a leading role as Luke Morgan in the 2011 film A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song alongside Lucy Hale.

Stroma expanded his feature film work with a minor role as a college radio station manager in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect and starred in the 2014 psychological thriller After the Dark, which was filmed in Jakarta. In June 2015, he joined the main cast of the Lifetime dramedy Unreal, playing British bachelor Adam Cromwell, a role he returned to play in the show's second season.

In 2016, Stroma portrayed undercover CIA officer Brit Vayner in Michael Bay's film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and starred as H. G. Wells in the ABC series Time After Time. He later made a guest appearance as Prince Frederick of Prussia in the 2020 Netflix period drama Bridgerton alongside Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page.

Stroma subsequently joined the DC Universe series Peacemaker as Adrian Chase / Vigilante, replacing Chris Conrad by reshooting maskless scenes and providing voiceover work for suited sequences. Following the conclusion of the second season in 2025, no plans were announced for a third season. Outside of acting, Stroma plays guitar and sings. He adopted his professional stage name to avoid confusion with an NHL player of the same name, and he married actor Johanna Braddy in December 2016.
