Pike was born in Hammersmith, London, as the only child of opera singers Julian Pike and Caroline Friend. She continued to star in prominent film and television productions, playing Ruth Williams Khama in A United Kingdom (2016), Marie Colvin in A Private War (2018), and Marie Curie in Radioactive. In 2019, she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the comedy miniseries State of the Union. She later won a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Marla Grayson in the black comedy I Care a Lot (2020).
Pike starred as Moiraine Damodred in the fantasy series The Wheel of Time from 2021 to 2025 and received further acclaim for her performance in the satirical thriller Saltburn (2023). In addition to acting, she served as an executive producer on the Netflix science fiction series 3 Body Problem (2024), earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. In 2025, she returned to the stage after 15 years in the Royal National Theatre production Inter Alia, winning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress.
Pike's other work includes voicing Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward in Thunderbirds Are Go and narrating various audiobooks, including James Bond titles and The Wheel of Time books.
