Miyawaki Sakura

Sakura Miyawaki, born March 19, 1998, and known mononymously as Sakura, is a Japanese singer and actress based in South Korea. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Le Sserafim and a former member of the South Korean–Japanese girl group Iz*One, as well as the Japanese idol groups HKT48 and AKB48. She began her musical career in Japan before expanding her activities into South Korea.

Raised in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, Miyawaki lived with her parents until their divorce when she was a year old, and she has a younger half-brother. Encouraged by her mother, she began attending a local musical school at a young age and appeared as Young Nala in the Shiki Theatre Company's musical The Lion King at age 10. In 2010, she participated in The Broadway Experience in New York, receiving intensive instruction in dance, singing, and acting. She later graduated from the Maria Musical Academy in Kagoshima.

Miyawaki joined HKT48 as a first-generation trainee in July 2011 and made her first official appearance later that year. After being promoted to Team H in 2012, she became the first HKT48 member to place in the AKB48 general election. She was later appointed vice captain of Team KIV and held a concurrent position in AKB48 Team A. During her time with HKT48 and AKB48, she performed on numerous singles, sharing a lead position on Kiboteki Refrain in 2014 and holding center positions on singles including Kimi wa Melody and No Way Man. She also starred in the drama Majisuka Gakuen 4 in 2015 and released a photobook, Sakura, which topped Oricon's weekly photobook chart.

In 2018, Miyawaki placed second on the reality competition show Produce 48, earning a spot in the girl group Iz*One. She took a hiatus from her Japanese groups until Iz*One's contract expired in April 2021. That same year, she launched a video gaming channel on YouTube. Following Iz*One's disbandment, she announced her departure from HKT48, holding a graduation concert in Fukuoka in June 2021 and releasing the graduation song Omoide ni Suru ni wa Mada Hayasugiru. Her contract with Vernalossom concluded in November 2021.

In March 2022, Miyawaki signed an exclusive contract with Source Music and joined A.M. Entertainment for individual activities in Japan. She debuted as a member of Le Sserafim in May 2022 with the extended play Fearless. In 2026, she was named to the Forbes Japan 30 Under 30 list.

Throughout her career, Miyawaki has engaged in numerous commercial endorsements and business ventures. She has served as a promotional model or ambassador for campaigns in Kagoshima as well as brands such as Molak, Flower Knows, Kérastase Japan, Lily Brown, Primera, Felissimo, and Maybelline New York. In business, she established the cosmetic line Cran by Molak, which operated from 2021 to 2022, and launched the personalized knitting and crochet brand Kkurochet in January 2025.
