Kim Chaewon

Kim Chaewon is a South Korean singer best known as the leader of the K-pop girl group Le Sserafim and as a former member of the project group Iz*One. Born on August 1, 2000, in Seoul, South Korea, she developed an interest in performing arts at an early age. She pursued formal training in music and performance, graduating from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2019.

Kim gained national recognition in 2018 while participating as a contestant on the Mnet survival reality show Produce 48. Finishing in tenth place, she secured a spot in the twelve-member South Korean-Japanese girl group Iz*One. The group debuted in October 2018 with the extended play Color*Iz and went on to release hit tracks and full-length albums across South Korea and Japan. Iz*One officially concluded its planned group activities in April 2021.

Following the disbandment of Iz*One, Kim signed an exclusive contract with Source Music, a subsidiary label under HYBE. In May 2022, she redebuted as the leader and vocalist of the five-member girl group Le Sserafim, launching their career with the debut extended play Fearless. Under her leadership, Le Sserafim achieved substantial commercial success, charting internationally with subsequent music projects including Antifragile, Unforgiven, and Easy.

Alongside her group work, Kim has built a presence in television and fashion. She has appeared on several Korean variety programs, hosted web entertainment shows, and secured prominent brand ambassador deals. She continues to record, perform, and tour internationally with Le Sserafim.
