Jo Yu-ri

Jo Yu-ri is a South Korean singer and actress born on October 22, 2001. She first entered the media spotlight through reality competition shows, competing on Mnet's Idol School in July 2017, where she finished in 15th place. In May 2018, she participated in Produce 48 and finished in third place, earning a spot in the twelve-member South Korean–Japanese girl group Iz*One. The group launched on October 29, 2018, with the release of Color*Iz. During her time with the group, she co-composed and wrote the sub-unit track "Someday" for their 2020 studio album Bloom*Iz. The group officially disbanded on April 29, 2021, following the end of their contract.

Following the disbandment of Iz*One, Jo established herself as a solo performer under the agency WakeOne. She launched her solo music career in October 2021 with the single album Glassy. Her initial solo efforts earned her Rookie of the Year and Best New Female Artist nominations across major South Korean music ceremonies, including the Golden Disc Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Seoul Music Awards. In June 2022, Jo released her first extended play, Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major, featuring the title track "Love Shhh!", which reached number five on the Circle Album Chart and brought her a first music show win on The Show. She released her second single album, Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Minor, later that year in October.

Alongside her album releases, Jo has extensively contributed to television soundtracks. Her soundtrack catalog includes "My Love" for Do You Like Brahms?, "Story of Us" for Monthly Magazine Home, "Can You Feel My Heart" for The Law Cafe, "Run (Female Ver.)" for The Fabulous, "Drink It, Girls!" for Work Later, Drink Now 2, "Down (Juicy Juicy)" for See You in My 19th Life, and "Spring Days pass" for Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born. She also released musical collaborations, including "Autumn Memories" with Lee Seok-hoon and the duet "Luv Luv Luv" with Sung Han-bin for My Lovely Liar. Her musical releases continued with her second extended play, Love All, in August 2023, and her third extended play, Episode 25, in July 2025.

Jo expanded her career into television acting, debuting in the 2022 web drama Mimicus. She subsequently made a guest appearance in Work Later, Drink Now 2 as the juvenile delinquent Sieun, earning positive feedback from critics for her dramatic performance. She attained wider international recognition after being cast as Kim Jun-hee, or Player 222, in the second and third seasons of the Netflix series Squid Game, released between late 2024 and mid-2025. Her acting career expanded further with lead roles as Seung-hee in the Netflix series Variety and Im Mi-a in Love Virus.

In addition to her entertainment activities, Jo has participated in various brand endorsements. She modeled for Olive Young's cosmetics line colorgram in 2021, Logitech G's Aurora Collection in 2022, and the clothing brand Mardi Mercredi in 2025 alongside a pictorial with Dazed Korea. She also participated in a joint promotional single for Lipton with actress Chae Soo-bin in May 2023. During an appearance on the variety show Omniscient Interfering View in July 2025, Jo confirmed that she had renewed her management contract with WakeOne.
