Park Seo-joon

Park Yong-kyu, professionally known by his stage name Park Seo-joon, is a South Korean actor born on December 16, 1988. He is widely recognized for his performances in television dramas and feature films, earning a prominent reputation in both South Korea and internationally through a wide array of leading roles.

During his middle school years, Park joined an animation club and had the chance to perform on stage during an annual showcase. Experiencing the spotlight motivated him to pursue acting studies at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. Facing personal difficulties during his studies, he chose to prioritize his mandatory military service and enlisted in 2008. He completed his active duty service assigned to the Security Guard Battalion at the Cheongju Correctional Facility.

Park began his career in the entertainment industry in 2011 by appearing in the music video for Bang Yong-guk's single I Remember. He subsequently took on supporting roles in television series including Dream High 2, Pots of Gold, and One Warm Word, before securing his first lead role in A Witch's Love in 2014. Between October 2013 and April 2015, he worked as a host on the television program Music Bank. His breakout momentum occurred in 2015 when he co-starred alongside Hwang Jung-eum in the popular series Kill Me, Heal Me and She Was Pretty, as well as appearing in the thriller film The Chronicles of Evil.

In 2016, Park starred in the historical drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. He achieved widespread popularity in 2017 through the romance comedy Fight for My Way, playing a former taekwondo player striving for success in mixed martial arts alongside Kim Ji-won. The same year, he starred in the action comedy Midnight Runners, winning Best New Actor awards at the Grand Bell Awards and the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. In 2018, he headlined the hit romantic comedy series What's Wrong with Secretary Kim alongside Park Min-young.

Park expanded his film projects in 2019 by starring as a martial artist in the action horror movie The Divine Fury, making a brief appearance in the film Parasite, and serving as a special juror for the Asiana International Short Film Festival. In 2020, he starred in the webtoon adaptation Itaewon Class, playing a bar-restaurant owner who expands his business into a franchise. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Actor – Television at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.

In 2023, Park starred in the sports film Dream, the disaster thriller Concrete Utopia, and the series Gyeongseong Creature. He also made his Hollywood debut playing Prince Yan of Aladna in the superhero movie The Marvels. In February 2023, he donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to assist victims of the Turkey–Syria earthquake. He later starred in the romance drama series Surely Tomorrow, which premiered in 2025.
