Park So-dam

Park So-dam is a South Korean actress born on September 8, 1991. She first acquired widespread attention for her roles in the 2015 feature film The Priests, alongside television series such as Cinderella with Four Knights, Record of Youth, and Death's Game. Her prominence grew internationally following her performance in Bong Joon-ho's 2019 dark comedy thriller Parasite, which attained critical acclaim, received the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Her interest in performing was ignited during high school after viewing a production of the musical Grease. In 2010, she entered the drama department at the Korea National University of Arts, studying alongside future notable actors such as Kim Go-eun and Lee Yoo-young, and graduated in February 2014.

During her university years, Park turned toward independent cinema following rejections from roughly seventeen auditions. She acted in numerous short projects, completing eight in 2013 alone and appearing in over fifteen overall by the end of that year. Her early work in indie feature films included Ingtoogi: Battle of the Internet Trolls and Steel Cold Winter, the latter screened at the Busan International Film Festival. Soon after, she landed minor parts in commercial movies such as Scarlet Innocence and The Royal Tailor.

Park gained major recognition in 2015 through her portrayal in The Silenced, securing the Best Supporting Actress title at the Busan Film Critics Awards. That same year, she appeared in popular releases Veteran and The Throne, before being cast as a possessed student in the mystery thriller The Priests, which brought her multiple new actress accolades. She also made her television debut in the series My First Time, earning a nomination at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards. By 2016, she held leading roles in television programs including A Beautiful Mind and Cinderella with Four Knights, while participating in a revival of the stage play Closer.

In 2019, Park portrayed Ki-jung in Parasite. Her role as the clever younger sister became widely recognized, and she shared in the ensemble cast's success, winning an award at the 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards. Following this, she appeared in the variety show Three Meals a Day: Mountain Village and began working on the action feature Special Delivery. In 2020, she starred in the television drama Record of Youth, joined the cast of Gamsung Camping, and reprised her theater role in The Student and Mr. Henri.

In late 2021, Park was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer during a routine medical examination and underwent surgery. During her subsequent hiatus, during which she also recovered from COVID-19, previously filmed projects were released, including the 2022 crime thriller Special Delivery and the 2023 historical spy film Phantom. She later returned to acting as the lead in the fantasy series Death's Game, playing the figure of Death.

In addition to her screen career, Park has engaged in charitable initiatives, including a cover appearance for Big Issue to assist homeless individuals and participating in the 2018 Ice Bucket Challenge. Professionally, she moved to The Present Company in November 2025 after eight years with Artist Company. She is also related to actress Park Won-sook as the granddaughter of her cousin.
