Chae Soo-bin

Bae Soo-bin, known professionally as Chae Soo-bin, is a South Korean actress born on July 10, 1994. She first gained recognition for her performance in the television series Love in the Moonlight (2016) and subsequently transitioned into leading roles across television, film, and theater. She is a Catholic whose baptismal name is Lucia.

Chae was discovered by a casting director on the street and signed a management contract with Toin Entertainment. She made her acting debut in 2014 in the film My Dictator. In 2015, she appeared in the weekend drama House of Bluebird and the youth series Cheer Up!, which earned her Best New Actress awards at both the 4th APAN Star Awards and the 29th KBS Drama Awards.

In 2016, Chae received broader recognition for her role in the historical drama Love in the Moonlight, directed by Kim Seong-yoon and starring Park Bo-gum, for which she earned an Excellence Award nomination at the 30th KBS Drama Awards. That same year, she starred in the stage play Blackbird and the Chinese-South Korean web-drama My Catman.

Chae took on her first prime-time leading role in January 2017 in the historical television series The Rebel. Following the increased popularity brought by the series, she starred in the youth romance drama Strongest Deliveryman, the romantic comedy I'm Not a Robot, and an episode of the KBS Drama Special titled If We Were a Season. In 2018, she starred in Where Stars Land, winning an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards and receiving an appointment as an honorary ambassador of Incheon International Airport alongside co-star Lee Je-hoon.

After her contract with Toin Entertainment expired in December 2018, Chae joined King Kong by Starship in January 2019, later extending her contract in May 2022. She starred in the 2020 romance drama A Piece of Your Mind alongside Jung Hae-in, the 2021 romantic comedy film Sweet & Sour with Jang Ki-yong, and featured opposite Gong Myung in music videos for Kyuhyun's Four Seasons Project between 2021 and 2022.

In 2022, Chae played lead roles in the Disney+ series Rookie Cops alongside Kang Daniel, the period adventure film The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure, and the Netflix series The Fabulous. She also reunited with her Love in the Moonlight co-stars for the entertainment program Young Actors' Retreat. In January 2023, she played Viola de Lesseps in the stage production of Shakespeare in Love at the Seoul Arts Center, and in May 2023 released the promotional single Yellow Circle with singer Jo Yu-ri.

Chae continued her career in 2024 by starring in the film Hijack 1971 and playing the female lead in the romantic thriller series When the Phone Rings. In 2025, she starred in the live-action fantasy film Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, an adaptation of the web novel Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
