Lee Je-hoon

Lee Je-hoon is a South Korean actor born on July 4, 1984. He has established a successful career in both film and television. He initially earned critical acclaim for his roles in the 2011 films Bleak Night and The Front Line, receiving numerous accolades. His performance as Ki-tae in Bleak Night secured him the Best New Actor title at both the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Grand Bell Awards.

Upon realizing his desire to act, Lee abandoned his biotechnology major at Korea University to enroll in the School of Drama at the Korea National University of Arts. From 2006 through 2010, he honed his craft by appearing in over 18 indie projects and student short films, including the coming-of-age romance Just Friends?. He also worked as an extra in mainstream commercial movies such as The Servant and Finding Mr. Destiny.

Lee experienced a career breakthrough in 2011. Reviewers praised his portrayals of a manipulative young man in Bleak Night and a morphine-addicted squad leader in the high-budget war film The Front Line. He attained mainstream fame playing a shy student in the 2012 hit Architecture 101. Despite the poor reception of the television series Fashion King, his portrayal of a struggling heir displayed his range. He subsequently co-starred with Han Suk-kyu in My Paparotti, appeared in Ghost Sweepers, voiced Jack Frost for the Korean release of Rise of the Guardians, and performed in An Ethics Lesson.

Lee carried out his mandatory military service from October 25, 2012, to July 24, 2014, serving in the riot police under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. For his post-enlistment comeback, he reunited with Han Suk-kyu in the historical drama Secret Door, playing Crown Prince Sado. He then starred in the film Phantom Detective. In 2016, Lee starred in the fantasy crime drama Signal alongside Cho Jin-woong and Kim Hye-soo, achieving strong commercial and critical success.

In 2017, Lee starred opposite Shin Min-a in Tomorrow, With You as a time-traveling real estate executive. He then played anarchist Park Yeol in the period biographical film Anarchist from Colony and portrayed a civil servant in I Can Speak. After starring in the 2018 airport drama Where Stars Land, he and co-star Chae Soo-bin were named honorary ambassadors for Incheon International Airport. In 2019, he filmed the backpacking reality show Traveller in Cuba alongside Ryu Jun-yeol and was cast in Tomb Robbery. His role in the 2020 dystopian film Time to Hunt earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, and he also starred in Collectors.

In 2021, Lee launched the agency Company on after his previous contract ended. He led the action crime series Taxi Driver—which returned for a second season in 2023—and starred in the series Move to Heaven. His subsequent screen projects include special appearances in One Dollar Lawyer and Hot Stove League, as well as roles in the film Escape and the series Chief Detective 1958. His philanthropic efforts include supporting typhoon relief in the Philippines in 2015, donating 100 million won for wildfire relief in 2022, and contributing 1 million won to the Korea Film Academy Development Fund in 2023.
